How often should my child see the dentist?
Every
6 months

Six months after the eruption of the first tooth or at the age
of 12 months- whichever comes first.
Why should I take my child to a

A pediatric dentist has an extra two years of
specialized training and is dedicated to the oral health of children from
infancy through the teenage years.
Guidelines for brushing & flossing
children's teeth
Infants: Wipe gums after
feedings.
Toddlers: Parents should brush the child's
teeth.
Preschoolers to 7 year olds: Help the child develop
dexterity with supervised brushing. Parents should floss between teeth that are
touching.
Age 8 and up: By this time, the child should be brushing
2-3 minutes twice a day and flossing once a day
independently.
