The father of abduction survivor Elizabeth Smart was in San Angelo Thursday night for the first "radKIDS" instructor graduation.

"radKIDS" is the program that helps children learn how to protect themselves against bullying, abduction and abuse and will be implemented this spring in San Angelo schools.

More than 50 instructors celebrated the completion of their nationally certified "radKIDS" training Thursday night....and Ed smart-- who supports the program --  helped congratulate them.

"When you go in and talk to people and you hope this can come about...but it really is a matter of showing that you care..and the community does care about their children and this is absolutely wonderful," Smart said.

Angelo State University's Wellness Center and Safe Kids San Angelo along with the Health Foundation have all helped to bring the program to the San Angelo school district.
