Allen, TX--Angelo State's time here at the lone star conference basketball tournament began and ended today in the conference quarterfinals against West Texas A&M definitely not the result ASU was looking for, and the way it played out kind of a surprise  going into the game they had a six game winning streak. The game unfolded early on with West Texas A&M jumping out to a 17-3 lead.

"We've been playing confident, the last six or seven games and I don't know what happened today," Junior Guard Leah LeMaire said. "We just got outhustled and (West Texas A&M) made us rattled on the offensive end."

Another factor in the Buffs lead early on was their advantage on the glass, WT outrebounded ASU on the day 40-25.

"Just to get outhustled and outworked like that on the offensive rebounds is really what I'm most disappointed in," Head Coach Sally Brooks said.

The bottom line, ASU had one of their most disappointing games of the year this afternoon, final score in the quarterfinal game was West Texas A&M 61 Angelo State 36 and those 36 points the fewest scored in women's Lone Star Conference Championship basketball history so a definite, disappointing end to Angelo State's season this year, the good news is it was Coach Sally Brooks' 11th winning season with the Rambelles. Season comes to a close today in Allen, Texas.
