Water Valley, TX --Water  Valley's boys basketball team has garnered attention all season rising up to a number ranking, and despite all of the pressure that comes from being a highly ranked team, the Wildcats continue to remain a loose group.

"They have confidence and they enjoy what they're doing, but when they get out there they just enjoy it they're really a lot of fun to watch, I sit back and watch most of the game myself," Head Coach Copley said.

Being such a formidable force all year brings pressure, fortunately for them, is something they've been able to handle although it hasn't been necessarily easy.

"It's tough because we go out every night and we know we're going to get everyones best shot being ranked where we are, everyone wants to beat us," explains Junior Guard Connor Copley.

Junior forward Brock Demere says,"Coach is trying to keep us focused that, that's not what we're about it's not about a high ranking it's about being the last one standing when it comes down to it."

Their area round opponent will be Panther Creek, and the Wildcats say it's real simple, the earlier they pounce, the easier it'll be to win.

"If we can't hit shots, we can't hit shots we've got to step it up in other aspects of the game and I think that we'll be able to do that," said Brock Demere.

"We just have to go out and take care of business do things like we've done all year," said Andy Copley."

"We just have to put pressure on them that they haven't seen in awhile and we kind of jump on them and cause them to get out of character a little bit."

Water Valley will play Panther Creek Friday night in Blackwell at 6:30
