First Funnel Cake Run

The first funnel cake run began around eleven o'clock with a 5k race as well as a one mile fun run.

The over 200 contestants ran around the carnival grounds, rides and exhibits...

The event today marked the opening of the midway...And the event organizers had a special gift for the kids who participated in today's run.

"For the 12 and under kids, we're giving away free t-shirts to the first hundred and free wrist bands to the carnival so they can ride any ride that they want, unliimited, all day."

Schwartz says they hope to make this an annual event.
