San Angelo, TX-Today is a special day for players all around the country, where all of the hard work completed in the past 4 years culminates into a realization that the dream of playing at the next level is now reality.

"The whole recruiting process is very stressful sometimes," said Ozona's Jerrod dubois who is signing with West Texas A&M.

"Getting here is a real big deal and I'm really excited about it," ASU-signee from Sonora Kade Wimberly says.

Ozona's Jerrod dubois signed with West Texas A&M, and not just because it's a conference contender.

"The thing that stood out to me the most, was the connection that all of the players had the chemistry the team had, it's a family, not just teammates but we're brothers," duBois explained.

Wall and Sonora will be represented on the field at ASU as Wall's Trent Schwartz and Sonora's Kade Wimberly will join the Rams next season.

"Coach Wagner the first day I met him, he was real nice and really brought me in and started talking and everything went great from there on," Wimberly said.

Angelo State also added a couple of standouts from Abilene Cooper in Fred Lawrence and Anthony Pierson.

"I want to start the first year I can and play special teams, play cornerback, play anything I can to make sure we can get some wins," Lawrence said.

The common-thread between all of these players was the ease they had with ASU Coach Will Wagner, who isn't forgetting about this part of the state.

Will Wagner-"You know I always thought that, coming in to taking the job here at Angelo State that it was important for us for us to recruit West Texas," Will Wagner said.

Now it's time for a new chapter for the signing athletes but no matter how far they go, they'll remember today as being the day that started it all.
