San Angelo, Texas--On any given night, in any given gym you may see Brian Narvid in stripes regulating action on the basketball court, but on any given day, you may see Brian Narvid generating action on the tennis court.

"We've got a pretty good group of people in San Angelo that play Tennis and I just enjoy playing," Brian Narvid said.

Narvid plays in San Angelo in the Concho Valley Tennis Association so when Narvid hangs up his whistle, he picks up a tennis racket for an escape.

"Well it's kind of my peace of mind away from basketball," Narvid explains. "It's a pretty stressful year in the fall through the winter, and then tennis is basically a spring through the summer."

Brian Narvid's son picked up the sport first and as his sons love for tennis developed, Narvid began growing more fond of the game.

"We had to take him to the tournaments outside of the high school stuff and yeah he was a lot better than me but he was patient with me," Narvid says laughing.

Now Narvid is a regular player enjoying the game as a player and he also will be refereeing matches later in the year.
