Pachatta Pope

A native of San Antonio, Pachatta is glad to be in San Angelo continuing her broadcast television career. Since the age of six, she knew that she wanted to be a TV broadcaster. She graduated with a degree in Communications and in Radio-Television-and Film. Her first job in television came when she accepted a position as a production assistant while in college at WOAI-TV, the NBC affiliate in San Antonio. While there she received instructions that could not be obtained in a classroom. Working in the midst of award-winning news veterans and seeking their insight she gained invaluable information and advice on how to effectively gather and deliver the news.

Pachatta's first actual on-air broadcasting experience came as a dee-jay at her college radio station. While working at WOAI behind the scenes, she was presented with an opportunity to gain on-camera experience on another medium -the internet.  Her love for sports turned into a regular panelist position on WOAI's weekly sports webcast, the SpursZone Roundtable.   Pachatta would discuss the Spurs and other NBA teams with local internet and radio sports personalities throughout the season as teams progressed toward the NBA Finals.  Shortly after her second stint on the webcast she moved to Aggieland (Bryan-College Station) to become a general assignments reporter for the local CBS affiliate, KBTX.  Her assignments led to interviews with people from across the spectrum.  She reported on local stories relevant to Brazos Valley residents.  She also reported on high profiled political figures such former President George H. W. Bush, former Texas A&M president and current Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and other U.S. and Texas government officials.  In addition, Pachatta has had the chance to talk food with Food Network's Guy Fieri.
