A San Angelo based corporation could be adding as many as 145 new jobs....and a tax incentive will help pay the salaries. Wednesday, members of San Angelos development corporation approved an incentive for multi-chem production chemicals that will keep the company here. Company executives moved their headquarters to San Angelo from Sonora several years ago. Multi-chem supplies chemicals used in natural gas and oil production. The one and a half million dollar incentive comes from half-cent sales tax money that is expected to help fund 50-thousand dollar and up jobs. Development corporation members unanimously approved the incentive Wednesday -- and will present the proposal to city council members next week for final approval.
