Angelo State University is about to embark on a new tradition, that's sure to beat the heat.

Beginning Thursday afternoon, ASU students, faculty and staff will be treated to free ice cream and root beer floats. The Concho Educators Federal Credit Union, Coca Cola Bottling Company, and Chartwells Dining Service all teamed up to offer this treat. The idea came from the same long standing tradition that takes place on the Baylor University campus. The float socials are scheduled from 2:30 to 4:00 in the afternoon in the Houston Harte University Center. These will take place every Thursday while classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters.
