Have you ever sinked your teeth into a piece of goat meat? Well then you haven't been to Brady in the past 34 years.
The 34th annual World Championship Goat Cook-off kicked off Saturday at Richards Park. Brady community members begin preparing for the cook-off months in advance to make each year's event the best. The fun started with the Goat Gallop, a 5k run. It continued with a tug of war challenge, a horsehoe and washer contest, and of course the cookoff. This year's addition was the Mystery Meat Challenge where weekend chefs were given a meat to barbecue and they didn't know what it was until they cooked it.
Wendy Ellis, Community Director, said, "There's a lot of different logistics and activites that go into an event like this. We work on it for months and months each year. But its alot of fun and its kind of an event they say that when you have really been successful with an event, it takes on a life of its own."
The fun will continue tonight with a street dance. It will last until 1am.
