Campfire Concert

Fort Concho was packed with people attending an old fashion camp fire concert.
The concert performed by the Pards, the singing cowboys, allowed many people to sit back and remember the days of the old west. The concert was held at the barracks 5 -6 courtyard Saturday evening during the cooler temperatures of the day. The campfire concerts also serves as a history lesson.
The bluegrass is all acoustic music and our series is all about western and acoustic music. Bluegrass is sort of a cousin to western music and actually some of the old cowboys, banjo tunes are very similar. Says musician Roger Banks.
Fort Concho is set to begin hosting the speakers series next month.
