The corner of west 19th street and martin luther king was flooded thursday, but "mother nature" did not have a hand in the down pours.

Around 9:00 this morning, city work crews were replacing a damaged signal light pole when they accidentally hit a 12 inch water main. Water shot about 30 feet in the air and flooded the intersection. Homes within two to three blocks of the accident had little or no water pressure for a time while work crews capped the massive leak and made repairs.
