Proper air pressure in tires saves gas, reduces tire wear, and may safe your life.
Austin Klinkscale says "on under inflated tires you get premature wear, they heat up faster, and cause blow outs."
Under inflated tires cause the sidewalls to wear and make the tires more likely to blow out. Improper inflation adversely effects braking and wet weather handling.
Austin Klinkscale says "the tires are designed to be at a certain pressure to get proper wear. You can wear out the inside or the outside if they are under or over inflated."
Most people will wash their car once a month, but they fail to check the pressure in their tires. When you wash your care go ahead and check the pressure in your tires.
Austin Klinkscale says "on passenger vehicles about 32 to 35. For light trucks like a 250 or three quarter up to one ton, we go 55 to 80, depends on what the customer wants."
The proper tire pressure for your vehicle will be on the inside of the drivers door. If you do not rotate your tires, they will wear unevenly and prematurely.
Austin Klinkscale says "rotation helps you get proper wear out of your tires, front to back unless told otherwise. Some people like to have them cross rotated."
Tires should be rotated about every six thousand miles.
