Most people in the area have been thankful for the rain we've received this year. However no one could be happier than the gardeners from the farmer's market.

The market held a Tomato and Melon Fest at the Paseo Saturday. The fest was held as a way to acknowledge the wonderful growing year the farmer's have experienced. Live entertainment that would make a tomato do the twist was provided along with door prizes every ten minutes.

Market Manager Margie Jackson said, "We've had so many tomatoes for the past two weeks, then we started getting in the watermelon and the cantalope that we decided its time for a watermelon-tomato fest. So instead of having them separate, we decided to have them together."

The fest was also held as a send-off for this season's fruits.
