Blue & Gold Auction

By: Mike Moritz
Updated: August 8, 2007
Local businesses, ASU alumni, and supporters of ASU athletics have donated quality items for auction to raise funds for the Athletic Foundation. Kathleen Brasfield says "a silent auction begins the event, followed by dinner and a raffle, and we also have a live auction. San Angelo business and community has been wonderful." Autograph memorabelia includes baseballs with the Astros case signed by both Bagwell and Biggio. The Texas A&M basketball is signed by last years team including A.C. Law. A Jerry Jones signed official NFL football is also up for bid. Kathleen Brasfield says "most retail items cost $100 or more. You have a great opportunity to support athletics and get some good stuff for yourself." That stuff includes a 52" TV, a queen size bed, and a one year membership to Bentwood. Also available is a John Deere Rotary Cutter, and Encino Ranch Buck Hunt, and a Winchester shotgun. Kathleen Brasfield says "Deans Marine has offered the bass boat for a certain amount of money. The winning bidder gets the boat and Deans Marine donates a portion of the cost." For those who like to travel, a December trip to Hawaii with the Belles is up for bid. A commemerative framed poster of the Rams baseball success is very well done. Kathleen Brasfield says "our student athletes are involved in community service. The money raised comes back to the student athletes and coaches. We use it for recruiting and education for the student athletes." Fridays dinner guests will be automatically entered in raffle drawings for several attractive prizes.
