Tom Green County commissioners agreed to a salary increase Tuesday for county elected officials and considered increasing county property taxes. Commissioners agreed to give elected officials -- excluding themselves -- a five percent increase next year. The four Tom Green county justices of the peace will get a ten percent salary increase. Commissioners also approved publishing a proposed tax rate increase that would amount to a little more than a 19 dollar a year increase on an average 75-thousand dollar home. Two public hearings will be held on the tax increase proposal.
