bike2007-08-05-1186372131.jpgHundreds of bicyclist came out for the annual biscuits and gravy rotary bike ride at the state park Sunday morning. The 100 mile ride started from the North Concho Equestrian Camping area. The mixed terrain route through F.M. 22-88 gave cyclist an opportunity to train for other races. The bike ride was also to help raise money and awareness for hunger issues in the Concho Valley.
The money that is generated by the bike ride will go to support things like the Concho Valley Food Bank, Meals for the Elderly, and a Rotary program called hunger plus that is regional and takes part in mexico. Margaret Charlesworth the ride director says.
The next bike race, 'The Classic Tour' at Copperas Cove is scheduled for later this month. For more information on bike rides and races in San Angelo log on to www.biketexas.org.
