But that was not the case for San Angelo ISD. In fact, this year marks the first time that Reagan and Bradford Elementary received a Recognized rating. Both schools were previously rated Academically Acceptable. According to Dr. Carol Ann Bonds, SAISD Superintendent, this is an accomplishment that was a long time coming. "Compared to the other schools our size in the state, we have one of the highest percentages of total schools making Recognized and Exemplary in the state, well over half. That is quite an accomplishment." This year SAISD maintained an overall district rating of Academically Acceptable. Of special note, Holiman and Santa Rita received a rating of Exemplary, the highest of four possible ratings.
