As the legend goes...The running of the bull is a spoof off the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, but without the bulls. The event gives people from across Texas a showcase to tell their most full of bull stories. The one story teller that can fudge their way through a believable story regins supreme.
  I started a festival called 'the running of the bull' which would be making fun or a spoof of the running of the bulls. And, i really didn't know what to expect, a liars contest, but it evolved into more of a cowboy function than anything and everyone seems to enjoy it, and the crowd just seem to love it. Says the Coordinator, Jim Runge.
  The event wasn't all bull..a parade kicked off the event and there were food booths, games for children, along with live entertainment. The running of the bull continues Sunday.
