The Red Wheel fundraising company will hold their annual 'straight from the freezer' sale this weekend. Profits from the sale will benefit a San Angelo non-profit organization. Jennifer jackson reports. Franchise operator, Mary Coffey woke up one morning with an idea to help out the community. I had just own that thing for about five months. I kind of mis-estimated my inventory, so I was like oh my God. Well this what I need to do, how am going to get here from here. It was literally one of those things at three o'clock in the morning. Says Mary Coffey of the Red Wheel Fundraising Company. Every Summer Coffey cleans out the freezer of the Red Wheel Fundraising company. She then sells the food to the general public. We're trying to sell everything that we have. All the profits go to the Samaritan Pastoral Counseling Center. Uh...the Samaritan Ctr. is the only center with a sliding scale. If you need help, they'll help regardless of your ability to pay.Says Coffey. Proceeds from the event will help fund the day to day operations of the counseling center. Coffey says she may be cleaning out the freezer, but the food is still of good quality. This is good stuff, I eat it , I feed it to my family, my friends. No, no, nothing is outdated. This allows me to clear it out, and do some much needed maintanence. And get ready for the Fall season. It's a win win situation. The fundraiser is expected to raise up to 10-thousand dollars. The Red Wheel, 'Straight from the freeze sale,' starts Saturday at 9 in the morning and on Sunday at 10 in the morning. The freezer is located on 6841 Templin road. For more information call 651-7258.
