Kimora Chop Shop Benefit

fundraiser2007-07-14-1184462501.jpgA local body shop owned by the Los Lonely Boys opened its doors to the public Saturday to help out a 3-month old girl with a heart defect.


Kimora Chavez was born with two holes in her heart instead of one. Pediatricians found the problem two days after she was born. Every month the Chavez's take Kimora to San Antonio for special treatments and have to pay close to $1,000 each month for bills. So on Saturday people were able to buy sausage plates at the chop shop for $7. All the money will go to little Kimora.

Hector Garcia, Kimora's grandfather, said, "It makes me smile. I just woke up this morning and smiled before I came here this morning. People have a big heart in this community. It's people in this community, especially San Angelo, that open up their hearts when something happens."


No word on how much money was raised for Kimora.
