Baseball is continuing for several members of the Angelo State Rams baseball team as they are spread across the country playing in amateur wooden bat leagues.
Two of the Rams pitchers have been very successful thus far. Joe Key is 2 and oh for the first place Derby Twins of the Jayhawk League with a one point six nine ERA. Micahel Gunters McKinney Marshals are also in first place and in eight and a third innings Gunter has yet to give up an earned run. Clay Calfee has continued with his hot bat in the Alaska League with the Anchorage Bucs. Calfee is fifth in the league in average batting with 384 and is first in both hits and doubles. Steven Allred is also having a good summer batting 303 for the first place Laramie Colts. All of the Rams are playing on first place teams including ASU assistant coach Marty Smith is is head coach of the Edenton Steamers.
