Codie along with 70 other students participated in the agriculture day safety program. Garry Branham/ 4-H development : You know safety is always an issue. We always want our kids to be safe to go out into the world. Everything from tractor safety, to sun uv rays, large animal safety, chemical safety. To be safe in different environments. For 10-year-old Clay Braden of Wall says he learned how to use a lawnmower. Clay braden/wall student: If you put your hand in the blade, and get cut off. And it can explode and kill you. Jjstdup: For many of these students learning how to be safe around wildlife and ranch equipment makes them feel wiser heading back to school. Codie wright/eden student: My friend was riding his bicycle without his flip flops and cut his toe off. Because I told him, I told him, he should come to farm safety, and he didn't want to do it. And like the next day, two days later he cut off his big toe. It was bad... Students were also given job and business opportunities of working with wild turtles.
