Concho Vallley Residents Celebrate Flag Day

Area veterans organized a flag ceremony tonight to celebrate flag day. Every year on June 14th people fly the American flag. At the V-F-W hall this evening....veterans gave certificates to several dozen people from around San Angelo who fly the American flag at their homes or businesses.....Every day of the year. "Well the flag is a symbol of the American military, that citizens have looked up to ever since the establishment of the nation. And weve got people from all parts of the world that respect and sometimes disrespect the American flag, but its a recognized symbol anywhere you go in the world." Flag day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States by members of the continental congress June 14th, 1777.
