Members of the world of life assembly of god aren't trained actors, but for 29 years around Easter, the church packs the house to present stories from the Bible in both song and script.
"Easter is just a special, special time in any believers life. When we did it the first Easter we said we will never be able to stop this because there is just too much passion about this time of year."
Around 1000 people attend each performance every year. Music director Gaynell Smith has been around since the very first pageant, and has seen significant gorwth and change over the years.
"We change it up every year. We add things to it, we take away, we get very innovative ideas and just build on it. Every year we build on it."
This year the annual Easter pageant is titled "The Promise 2013: Save Us Now" and will incorporate modern day science with biblical scenes.
" It's still just a message of hope and it's just a message of let's just do what we can while we can."
It's the passion of the church members that spreads the message each year througout the community.
"It feels like a miracle everytime that we do it. It really does. Because we are not trained actors, not trained as the world would see, but we just get together and it's just an act of love and passion."
Nightly performances begin Friday evening, with the last performance on Sunday.
