Local Company Helps Get Employees Healthy
By Aaryn Valenzuela

A San Angelo-based company called Timeclock Plus is stepping up to help their employees get healthy, and in shape. Its all part of a program the company started about eight weeks ago.

Zach Orzech is an Assistant Manager, and says they've tried doing their own "Biggest Loser" Contests and Weight Watcher Programs, but those just weren't working.

"We would of lost five pounds, 15 pounds, or 20 pounds, but then we would all put it back on and then some and it never really stick so I went to my bosses at Timeclock Plus to ask them for help and they said whatever you need we are gonna do it," says Zach Orzech, an Assistant Manager for the Company.

Since then, about a dozen people have joined the class, and the company is providing all of the funding for training and nutrition.

"Everybody has a buddy that they call each morning to make sure that were up and ready to go to the gym and give people rides if they need it," says Jason Well, a Timeclock Plus Employee.

Jimi Murray joined the group two weeks ago, and says she's learned to be an "early riser"

"When you get three phone calls and two text messages, they make it pretty easy to wake up, and now I'm awake before the text messages and phone calls," Jimi Murray, a Timeclock Plus Employee.

Orzech says they work together to keep each other motivated.

"We keep each other motivated with jokes, and calling Joe our "Torture Master," or whatever it is."

"I have been really impress with the motivation of the group above anything else, my background is purely personal training with a little bit of group training, but mostly one on one with clients, and so motivation is huge," says Joe Duerksen, a Personal Trainer at Gold's Gym."

Now many of them are seeing results.

"I've been real awake at work, more focused, and I have been able to focus a lot better on my customers," says Murray.
