Beef, cotton, grain and milk. Some people think this stuff just appears on store shelves.

But the Texas Farm Bureau wants to teach children at a young age  that hard work goes into making each one of those products.

"We need to get the story of agriculture to the public and this is a great way to meet the farmers and ranchers who actually  produce the feed and grain for the public."

Ranchers, cotton ginners, dairy farmers and conservationists all worked at different stations teaching kids first hand what goes into farm life.

"I think if we can give them a great experience and have fun and learn, ya know thats what every kid wants to do. They want to have fun. If you can put a learning experience with it, I think that's what it's all about."

Live animals and big machinery are two of the students favorite parts of the trip.

"They like being able to see a little pig or goat and being able to touch it, look at the tractors, play on them. Just ya know, the hands on experience."

Teachers help students retain everything they learn on the farm by continuing agriculture education in the classroom.

"Everything that we do, we always try to relay it back to what we did today. Or do you remember when this happened?  On all subject we will try to relate it back to things that they learned today so they have that hard memory of touching all of these things, and they can relate it  back to our trip here."

Wilde says over the five years for the event  the kids are  always eager to learn and the farmers are always ready to teach.
