High School Student Bullied and Video Taped Inside Grape Creek Locker Room

The mother of a Grape Creek High School Student filed a complaint with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Department after a fight in a boy's locker room. She says her 15-year-old son was bullied, and there is a video of the encounter. A grape creek high school student took a video just before baseball practice on Wednesday afternoon.

It shows a student walking up to 15-year-old Travis Ruschenberg, and pushing him to the ground while other students are standing around watching and video taping. He walks away, but another student comes up and pushes Ruschenberg to the ground and drags him across the room. In the video, it appears that Ruschenburg is kicked in the head with cleats.

Travis's mom says she didn't know what had happened until Wednesday evening. She says Travis came home and told her he was in a fight.

"I asked him a few questions about it and didn't think much about it at first , well then when he starts telling me more about it, I couldn't believe what I was hearing," says Andrea Disman, Travis's mom.

She found out later the fight had been video taped. She says a parent gave her the video, and she decided to post it on facebook.

"I want it to be out there, I want parents to know whats going on in that lockers with those boys," says Disman.

David Hale is the Superintendent for Grape Creek School District, and says the Principal and Athletic Director are investigating.

"Bullying, intimidation and fighting, thats not what we are about and I hate it because we have a lot of great kids and great parents and it does not reflect what we at Grape Creek stand for," says David Hale, Superintendent for Grape Creek ISD

Travis's mom has filed a complaint with the Sheriff's Department against two Grape Creek High School Students seen in the video.

The Tom Green County Sheriff says they're investigating, and treating this like any other case.

Travis's mom says what bothers her the most is the coaches didn't contact her right away, and still let him practice Baseball.

"I didnt get a phone call, I had no knowledge of it at all, and didn't have knowledge of it till three hours later," she says.

She says its also disturbing that none of the other students offered help

"These kids are in this video and taking pictures and video taping it, and not going and getting help all those kids. All of them," says Disman.

She says travis was not seriously injured, but did have a few bumps on his head.
