"Lake View hasn't had this good of a season in a while and for us to come and do as good as we're doing is not really a shocker because we all had confidence but it's just feels really really good," said Terri Castro, a freshman pitcher on the team.
Assistant Coach Macy Baker adds, "these girls are awesome and they're all hard workers and they wanna be here they want to win and you can really see it in there work ethic every day they come out 100% ready to work, ready to practice and it shows in games."
Adding to the excitement is the youth of this team, and the way the older players have guided the younger ones.
"We build the strength, like if somebody's down the upperclassmen has the charge to like bring up the underclassmen, don't let them get their heads down, if they miss a ball it's ok," said senior right fielder Dallas Craver.
Terri Castro is one of those underclassmen, she pitched a great game yesterday against Ft. Stockton, and she says it's an example of the work coming into fruition.
"We got our confidence back up and everything just started flowing into place, and we were able to hold them and come back and win the game," Castro said.
Lake View will play in this weekends San Angelo Umpires Tournament, which begins on Friday.
