Gas prices are now at a four-month high. Since December the price for a gallon of gasoline has increased almost one dollar and the increases have continued as late as this afternoon in San Angelo.
Experts with triple-a say the national average for a gallon of regular is three dollars and 73 cents.
Some of the reasons for the higher prices are that -- refineries are switching over to summer fuel which is more expensive to produce and others are off-line for maintenance.
Demand for fuel is also up as spring break approaches.
