Nature Center To Host Special Valentine's Day Party

By Aaryn Valenzuela

If you're looking for a place in San Agelo for your children to celebrate Valentine's Day, have you thought of the Nature Center? The Nature Center is home to about a 100 different types of animals.

"Were more like a small zoo, we have a plethora of different animals from all over the world, primarily the Western Hemisphere, especially right here in West Texas, " says Michael Price, the Nature Center's Director.

This week the Nature Center will host a special Valentine's Day party for kids. They'll provide food and kids will get to interact with about a dozen different animals. Everything from Bobcats to Prairie Dogs.

"We have an opportunity for parents to bring their kids out and drop them off from 5 to 9, for about four hours, they'll have time to do animal interactions, crafts, time for snacks and we are going to provide food," says Price.

Mike Price is the Nature Center's Director. He says this gives kids a chance to learn more about the animals, and since its Valentine's Day, he says they plan to talk about breeding.

"With it being Valentine's Day, she wants to talk about things animals do to attract one another, so they'll be focusing on displays animals do for one another to show off. Bearded dragons, the males, will display a big black beard, and do a lot of push ups and head bobs in front of the females. They will join in by giving little hand motions, and arm waves, and things like that," says Price.

They'll take reservations till Wednesday February the 13th.
