bike2007-06-10-1181522092.jpgMore than 100 cyclists gathered Sunday morning for a bike race at the San Angelo State Park.

The Tour de Burma II kicked off on the south shore of the park at 7am. The event was designed to promote cycling. Cyclists raced to Mertzon and back to the park. Cash prizes were awarded as well as trophies and medals.

Dominic Santos, president of the San Angelo Bicycling Association, said, "It's great for health reasons, it's great to get out here and enjoy the outdoors. There is a wonderful state park out here in San Angelo and people just need to come out here and take advantage of it."

If you couldn't make it out Sunday, the bicycling association will host a mountain bike race in October.
