More than 30 people showed their support for Fred Mueller with yellow ribbons and balloons.

"We're just here showing our support for Fred," Penni Wilde said, "just letting him know when he gets home that we're all behind him and we started out just putting out a few yellow ribbons and  it got a little carried away."

They're decorating Schwartz road in front of Fred Mueller's home in Wall. The ribbons and balloons stretch for several miles.

Fred Mueller is on trial in Gunnison, Colorado for the alleged murder of his wife Leslie in 2008.  The jury began deliberating this week.

"There used to be an old song about tying a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree and it was talking about when someone comes home to know that they're welcome home, and so we kind of just went with that," Wilde said.

It was clear by the turn out that Fred Mueller is well like in his community and he also had a positive influence  on the area's youth.

"I met Fred my eighth grade year, that was my first year out at Wall," Justin Meek, a friend of Mueller's said, "and ever since then he was a really good friend, he took me to an AC/DC concert, it was awesome. So many trips and many memories shared with Fred, he is just a great guy."

"I've known Fred for seven or eight years, I would consider Fred my friend," J.B. Marshall said,  "he's taken us on numerous trips, just a great guy, a giving guy, I'm a good friend of Fred's."

Pam Wilde has known Mueller for more than 15 years and she said their gesture is mainly to show Fred they support him.

"We miss you come on home. It's been a long time, come home."
