balloon2007-06-09-1181433699.jpgThe Festival on the Concho continued Saturday with fun food and a whole lot more.

The Festival festivities kicked off Saturday morning with a 5k and 8k River Run. Then it was time for the hot air balloon lift.  It takes a lot of work and preparation to get the balloons up in the air but the experience is worth it. If you couldn't get enough of the hot air balloons this morning, the annual hot air balloon glow will be held Saturday night at dusk.

The fun continued along the river with San Angeloans and visitors taking part in river events. There was also a talent show and a hot rod and motorcycle show. Merchant and food booths were also available for those who wanted to shop or those who needed refreshments.

One of the festivals organizers said, "It's just something the family can do all together and at the same time raise money for San Angelo. Every dollar goes back to the Junior League and put back into San Angelo to make San Angelo bigger and better."

If you haven't made it out there yet, there's still more to see. Festival events pick back up Sunday morning with another balloon lift at 7:30am.
