Thomas and Kelli Pleyo were on the float that was hit by the train in midland on November fifteenth of last year.

And since the tragic event Kelli has not been able to return to work due to the amount of injuries she received, so her father and friends set up a fundraiser and silent auction at Blaine's pub this afternoon to help the family raise money for hospital fees and bills..

"There was a lot of injuries, and I was one of the worst of them, I suffered some pretty bad traumatic blows to my back, and broke my nose and cut up my face real good, we ended up on opposite sides of the tracks. He jumped off, and it took me longer to get off I guess because i was shell shock, he's you know combat veteran he knows what to do."

Kelli says that when her husband jumped, he kicked her off in order to save her life.
