After spending some of his new year's holiday in Washington, Congressman Mike Conaway was in San Angelo today.

He stopped by the lighthouse for the blind -- which employs people with disabilities.

Conaway presented them with a contract to produce neck lanyards for the federal government....and will provide an opportunity for more employees for the next several years.

"will increase the workforce at the lighthouse for the blind  over the next few years to about 14 more people so its a great contract  probably a million of these lanyards will be put together and it will be a terrific opportunity for the folks here in tom green county"

They'll be making two different kinds of the neck lanyards used to hold government ID's.
