ASU's finance and administration vice president - Mike Reid will soon be leaving the school.   Reid has announced that he has accepted a similar job at the University of Montana.

    Lauren Lanmon has our report.

"The finance department at AngeloStateUniversity has been lead by a man who isn't originally from Texas but in just two short years he has made his mark here in San Angelo.

"There are a lot of mixed feelings and mixed emotions, San Angelo has been a fantastic place to live and to have our kids here and ASU has just welcomed me and in just two years i just feel like such a part of the community."

Weather he is helping dismiss parking tickets or standing by the university presidents side offering financial advice his work definitely doesn't go unseen

"as a division i really think the finance division has really understood that and were able to streamline their processes so that we would be able to help the faculty be more effective with what they do, and I take great pride, and I think that's one of the things we have really focused on and developed over the last two years."

And like most of us - Reid has had a life long goal - and is now finally given the opportunity to achieve it.

"the university of Montana has been a long term career of mine, in fact I cut out the job announcement and posted it on my bulletin board and said someday that is going to be my job and I have wanted that and watched that for over a decade, and so I'm elated to have the opportunity and I'm hoping that my career goals and my dreams are actually what i thought they are going to be, but it's going to be a little more difficult because I've been to a lot of schools, and i can say that without a doubt that ASU is second to none of them, it is truly a pinnacle institution and one that I'm sure I will look back on during my career and be proud that i was a part of ASU, it doesn't need to apologize to anyone, it is an institution that's got everything."

Reid has agreed to stay with ASU through March fifteenth in order to help the university through the first half of the upcoming legislative session.
