A city's webpage serves as a first impression for anyone looking to visit a new area.

San Angelo's city website is now in the beginning stages of being re-vamped.

Lauren Lanmon shows us that with these changes - San Angelo will not only be unique in person but online as well.

"In this technology driven era - anyone who has a question about anything - takes it to the world wide web. But how long will you spend on a web page that you can't seem to find your answers on - or how about those that have all the answers but zero organization?

"I think that the frustrations that i have as a public information officer, is that we want to have a unified message and a unified brand, and when you go onto our website, you know it's all over the map in just how it look for instance."

The web page San Angelo operates on right now was built eight years ago - which is basically an eternity in the technology world. But now the city is working with a company called vision that's based out of California.

"Vision has a format that works very well for municipalities in Texas, and have won very many awards and are inevitably liked not only by the cities that use them but by the citizens in those cities."

to use vision the first year cost to build the website is just under forty thousand dollars -  but San Angelo won't become just another cookie cutter web-page---- all these cities websites were made by vision and are vastly different from Round Rock to Grand Prairie to Denton.

"I don't think the city could get as good of a deal if they stayed inside this town, because i know about custom web development, and building that thing custom would cost a heck of a lot more than forty thousand bucks."

"our website, not only is it going to be a better first impression for people all across the nation and the world for San Angelo, but it is going to allow our local citizenry to conduct the business in a more effective and efficient manner."
