A home located in the 600 block of East 25th is ruled a total loss after a fire last evening.
Battalion Chief Fred Barnett says the living room a bedroom and a kitchen sustained heavy damage. And the rest of the interior of the home was destroyed. A man and his fiancee' got out just in time but their dog is apparently missing.
Firefighters discovered one dog that had perished but the family says it wasn't theirs. A space heater may be the cause. But the investigation continues. The home was not insured and the Red Cross is working with the family to meet their immediate needs
