Concho River Clean Up

When it's hot outside most people like to take a dip in the pool and maybe even the river for fun but Saturday some San Angeloans hopped in the river to clean it up.
Members of Keep San Angelo Beautiful and Friends of the San Angelo State Park gathered for the annual clean up of the Concho river. Everyone loaded up in canoes, kayaks and powered boats to help pick up garbage at places that are too difficult to clean by hand. People found furniture, tires and a whole lot more. Mike Loving, coordinator of the clean up, talked about the importance of keeping the Concho river beautiful. The clean up was part of National River Cleanup week.
Loving said "Water is one of the really important things, especially here in West Texas. Water is a really big issue and to take care of the water that we have is a lot more important. They are not making more of it. And we are really wanting to take care of that which we have."
