AngeloStateUniversity students come from around the United States and today those who could not go home during the Thanksgiving break enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal at the centennial village commons.  Marcus Officer reports.

Thanksgiving is a time to be with your family, eat and share stories but for those students unable to travel home, there was a meal waiting for them on the campus of ASU.  ASU residential services offered students a chance to have a family thanksgiving with their school family.  As Tracy Baker explains, the feast was just the beginning.  "We get together and have a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, ham, stuffing, all the works, pumpkin pie and then people will linger and play games, watch football and basically do what you do at your grandma's house without doing the dishes."  Students like Abraham Morland whose family is in the Carolinas. Morland says he is thankful he is able to share his thanksgiving with his ASU family.  "Well it's nice to know that I have some family here that will take me in, be able to have lunch, good time, and fellowship with friends and just be able to connect with people when I can't go home."  ASU wants to let the students and their parents know that although their children may not be home for the holidays, that they have a place to go that feels like home.  "Having them know that we're here with their student and that we didn't forget that this is a special day and that we're making an effort to let students come down and taste a little bit of home really makes a difference and that makes me proud to be apart of something like that."  Marcus Officer, KLST News.
