Prosecutors will seek the death penalty in the shooting of former San Angelo police officer Jaime Padron.
A spokesman for the Travis County district attorney's office today confirmed the DA will seek the death penalty in the capital murder case against 25-year-old Brandon Daniel. He's charged with shooting and killing Padron at a north Austin Wal-Mart in April after the Austin police officer responded to a call.
Family members in San Angelo told KLST today they support the Travis County DA's decision.  The next pre-trial hearing in the case is scheduled the first week of December.
