Chief Meteorologist Nick Kraynok is from the small town of Buckhannon, West Virginia. From a young age he was very interested in the weather. It all started when thunderstorms used to scare Nick, which prompted him to constantly watch The Weather Channel to make sure no bad storms were on the way. As he grew older, the weather became more interesting and broadcasting the weather was all he wanted to do.
Nick graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in May of 2003 and chose Penn State University to attend college. Nick worked at the Penn State Weather Station where he produced, directed and made graphics for a 15 minute weather show called "Weather World" that airs across the entire state of Pennsylvania. Also at Penn State, Nick was part of a student run weather program entitled "Weather Or Not", where he did features, anchored and forecast the weather during the summer of 2006.
Nick graduated from Penn State University in May of 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He is an active member in the National Weather Association and hopes to attain his NWA Seal of Approval very soon.
In his spare time, Nick loves to be outside. Golf, soccer, playing other sports and jet skiing are a few of his interests. Nick also likes to play guitar and hang out with friends on his days off. He loves to cheer on the Penn State Nittany Lions, West Virginia Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Manchester United soccer club. Nick also has one older brother, Joey.
