KSAN had the chance to speak to some 4th Graders to see what they have on their agenda for their summer break. The countdown's begun for the last day of school at Ft. Concho Elementary. "Two more days and you feel free, for no school for 2 months,” Ft. Concho 4th grader says. "We don't have to go to school." Ft. Concho Elementary 4th Graders along with other SAISD students will be released on May 31st to begin their summer break. "We have no school and there's no pressure and that's about it." So what does that mean with no tests or homework? "Have fun." "We're going to go swimming, fishing and probably go bowling." "I'm going to have a birthday party and my brothers going to graduate." These students are ready to put aside their backpacks and have their luggage packed for their summer voyages. "You get to go to places you never been before." "Go see my dad." "We're looking forward to going to South Padre Island and Schlitterbahn." "Go to Mexico and Six Flags." But while the students are having fun in the sun during their break, there are many they will miss. "Everybody in the school and my teachers and friends." "My teachers mostly, my friends and everything that I've learned." "My class, Ms. Porter, my friends and the school." But this class of 2015 knows they will be back in August for their 5th grade year to finish up their elementary years. "I think its' cool because we'll be the oldest ones in school and in the next grade." "We're going to be the leaders of the school." SAISD students will begin the 2007-2008 school year on August 27th 2007.
