As of Friday night more than 23-thousand tom green county voters cast early ballots. Marcus officer has the story. San Angelo voters wanted to be sure that they were able to cast their ballot for this year's election. "I think it's important to early vote just because we get caught up in a lot of things we have to do and it might be on our minds to vote and then before we know it the deadline is done and you can't even vote later." "You never know what's going to happen, and as a mother of three, there are all sorts of things that can delay you in life and the only way to be sure you're going to get your vote in there is to vote early." "It's a good thing to come early, get it done quicker rather than next week and going through all the chaos of it." Voters can also enjoy the perks that come along with early voting. "I know the majority of people do not enjoy waiting in a long line. The line that right now wasn't even that bad. It was pretty much in and out so that's one of the major perks as well." "It was a quick process today. I didn't stand in line very long; they were real helpful in there." The turnout for early voting this year has been higher than normal. As of Thursday November first over 17,000 voters have casted ballots for this year's election. "I like to get things done so if you don't want to wait in the hustle and bustle of a long line, of all the last minute people to do it, I say just get it done. Early voting is the way to go." Marcus Officer, KLST News. On election day, Tuesday, November sixth, polls will be open from seven in the morning until seven in the evening.
