Annual All Souls Day Mass

For 27 years now, Catholic bishop Michael Pfeifer has observed a special mass on "all souls day". It's part of the week marking "El Dia de Los Muertos," a time when catholics remember family members and loved ones who've passed away. At San Angelo's Calvary Cemetery today Bishop Pfeifer presided over a mass held at an altar built over the grave of Bishop Levin who served the diocese during the 1960's and 70's. After today's mass Bishop Pfeifer blessed individual graves of loved ones of the 150 or so people who attended.
