Growing up in Cache, OK (west of Lawton), the first indication that Randy would have a future in sports broadcasting was at the age of ten when he began announcing trophy dashes at the local dirt racetrack. As a high school student, he was announcing all sports for Cache high school. After graduating from high school, he teamed up with KLAW Radio in Lawton Oklahoma and became part of the radio broadcasts of Lawton MacAurther High School Football. At the same time, he was attending classes at the University of Central Oklahoma preparing for a career in television. A coupe of years later his chance came to join the campus television station, KCSU-TV. That was the opportunity he had been waiting for. Randy quickly became one of the sports anchors/reports/photographers for the area high schools and university athletic events on the nightly newscasts. While getting that experience Randy decided to take an internship at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City. Randy worked hand in hand with some of the best television sports reporters in the market while at this internship. Randy graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in May of 2006 and is now excited about the opportunity to continue to learn about the television industry and improve his skills while working here at KSAN. Besides maintaining his interest in dirt track racing, Randy’s other interest is simply being a sports fan. Randy looks forward to this opportunity as Sports Director and meeting coaches, athletes and fans, in order to inform the San Angelo community about their sports interests.
