This morning Tim Vasquez, our currently police chief, became the first candidate to file for the may twelfth municipal elections. The filing period opened on Saturday and will remain so until March fifth. Giving many more people the opportunity to throw their hat in the ring for the different positions.
Vasquez filed to be re-elected as chief of police just after eight this morning. He was first elected to the position in 2004, when he ran against five opponents and won without need of a runoff.
