GIRLSCOUTS2007-10-01-1191297437.jpgThe Girl Scouts El Camino Council officially changed its name to The Girl Scouts Of Central Texas on Monday. This was the first step in a historic realignment that will merge the El Camino Council with the council's of Waco, Temple, Killeen, Bryan--College Station, Austin, and Brownwood. The merger is seen as a move to strengthen girl scouting by offering more opportunities than in years past. While the corporate office will be housed in Austin, the "Little House" in San Angelo will serve as the regional center for the western area. Anyone interested in applying to be a scout or simply volunteering, can call The Girl Scouts at 655-8961.
